Community Supported Agriculture

CSA is a way for farmers to partner with eaters to move beyond the anonymous producer/consumer relationship. Our CSA provides you with a weekly box of veggies, but it goes far beyond that. It puts your dollars directly in the hands of our collective farm, to be reinvested in our community. It allows you to eat only what is freshest and exactly in season, changing the rhythm of your kitchen from the monotony of the grocery store to vibrant pulse of the seasons. Your food will travel less than 75 miles from field to plate, rather than thousands of miles across the country. Best of all, you know exactly who grew your food. We feed ourselves and our children on the same food, so you know it’s the safest, healthiest, most flavorful we can grow.

Why do I have to pay up front?

Up front payment is an important feature of CSA for two reasons:

  • It helps mitigate the risk of growing crops in our increasingly volatile climate. By growing a wide variety, we can usually send you a great share even if minor catastrophes hit, but having the investment up front helps us weather those storms.

  • It provides us farmers with the cash needed to get our season going- seeds, supplies, potting soil, etc. Commodity crop farmers can apply for operating loans but we rely on you!

Will I like having a CSA?

CSA isn’t for everyone, it’s true. But, if you love vegetables or are trying to improve your relationship with them, try it!

If are willing to dedicate at least part of your week to cooking veggies, and are open to learning new things in the kitchen, try it!

If you are looking for the best flavor and the freshest produce possible aside from having your own garden, try it!

If you are interested in farm life and like the idea of cultivating a relationship with the folks who grow your food, try it!
